Paul Richard (Povilas Ričardas) Vaitiekūnas is Lithuania’s best known living painter. He was born in Kaunas, 1940. In 1964 he graduated from the Lituanian State Institute for the Arts.
Vaitiekūnas lives and works in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius and in Mardasavas, a village not far from the place where Lithuania, Poland and Belarus meet.
Works by Vaitiekūnas are in the collections of the Lithuanian Arts Museum (Vilnius), the Lithuanian National M. K. Čiurlionis Museum (Kaunas), the Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam) and in private collections.
